Donut Project

Book and toy concepts for Make Art That Sells

Personal work

Coco Moloko was an assignment for the portfolio course facilitated by Make Art That Sells. Participants were tasked to create a book and toy concept based on the manuscript written by Art Director, Zoe Tucker.

My goal was to create something simple and approachable for a younger audience. Simple shapes and a vibrant yet minimal palette were the name of the game. I avoided including arms and legs since it detracts from the essence of Coco Moloko's personality. Instead, I made sure that Coco Moloko's expressions were straightforward and easy to understand just by looking at them. As for the toy concept, I envisioned something that my young daughter would play with: mix-and-match plush toys that are interactive enough for little hands.
