To celebrate the upcoming release of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, the IMAX at White River State Park commissioned me and four other artists to create illustrated renditions of one of the most enduring stories in literature.

I picked the confrontation between Odysseus and Polyphemus because of its study on contrasts. It explores themes of humility, hubris, intelligence, and violence. I wanted to emphasize these by showcasing the contrast between man and monster through scale, color temperature, and posture.
